The party of the year is about to begin! It’s time to celebrate and honor the top businesses and people that you, our readers of the Metropolitan Magazine, voted the “Best Of” the Eastern Shore!
In recognition, you’re invited to join us on Friday, October 2nd at the spectacular Fountains Wedding and Conference Center in Salisbury. As in previous years, the black-tie optional evening will also benefit Peninsula Regional Medical Center in tribute to the outstanding care it has consistently provided to generations of our citizens for more than a century. All proceeds will be donated to the hospital.
This year’s winners are a vibrant blend of familiar, tested-and-true names mixed with a selection of newcomers, all of whom have attained the exacting standards of quality and service that have made the “Best Of” the premier reference list for discerning consumers throughout Delmarva. We’re proud to add that the lineup includes an increasing number of honorees from Delaware — a sign of the ever-spreading distribution of the Metropolitan Magazine!
The ultimate accolade to which all Shore businesses aspire is, of course, the “Best Of” Hall of Fame, reserved for those who have won in their categories at least 10 times.
The winners and guests truly look forward to the annual celebration. The list of attendees constitutes a veritable “Who’s Who” of Delmarva. And the fashions always set the styles for party times ahead.
The Fountains’ exquisite Grand Ballroom makes an appropriate setting for such a spectacular event. The sweeping staircase, 21-foot ceilings, dancing fountains and sparkling crystal chandeliers create an atmosphere that is both elegant and romantic.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., guests will be welcomed in the ballroom with champagne and premium, top-shelf drinks — including the popular Metropolitan Cosmopolitan! Enjoy the Motown sounds of the seven-piece band from Washington, D.C., Jimi Smooth & HitTime, a D.C., and East Coast favorite. Care to stroll outside? Enjoy the new Lagoon Bar, an island-themed deck designed for 200 people with a retractable ceiling and walls to ensure a tropical climate, whatever the weather forecast predicts. The intoxicating rhythm of Tom and Donna Clark’s steel drum music will complete the Caribbean mood.
Executive Chef Michael Kane’s menu will add another superlative to the evening. Mouth-watering entrées include Lobster and Parmesan Cups, Barbecued Molasses Bistro Steak, Crab Cakes, Bloody Mary Gazpacho Shrimp and Beef Bourguignon Puff...just to name a few! Always on the cutting edge of culinary trends, Chef Kane will be including a surprise dish that has become the rage in Chicago! And no one will be able to resist the sumptuous selection of desserts! Is it any wonder that the Fountains is the region’s premier luxury entertainment facility?
