Walter Lischick, M.D., FACS

Dr. Walter Lischick, physician liaison to the Commission on Cancer (CoC) for the Peninsula Cancer Center at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, has over 20 years of experience and is a graduate of Georgetown University Medical School. Lischick received the 2006 Cancer Liaison Outstanding Performance Award by the CoC.

At Mid-Atlantic Surgical Group, Lischick is one of the Shore’s most qualified purveyors of medical talent for breast (including oncoplastic) surgery, conventional vascular surgery, gallbladder treatment, varicose and spider veins, stenting, balloon angioplasty, bypass surgery and laparoscopic contingent.

David T. Walker, M.D., FACS

Dr. David Walker is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a partner with Mid-Atlantic Surgical Group, and has been on the staff of Peninsula Regional Medical Center for over 20 years. His areas of primary interest are breast, endocrine and general surgery. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed his surgery training at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences.
His expertise in breast surgery includes membership in the American Society of Breast Surgeons and he is one of the first 100 surgeons in the United States to be certified in the Mastery of Breast Surgery Pilot Program of the ASBS. As the medical director of the PRMC Breast Center, he also has membership in the National Consortium of Breast Centers and helps guide the region’s most comprehensive breast diagnostic and treatment program.

David Kerrigan, M.D., FACS

Dr. David Kerrigan is one of six surgeons at Mid-Atlantic Surgical Group’s new location at 6507 Deer Pointe Dr. “We are continually growing in response to the increasing need for surgical services,” said Kerrigan.

Through the years, the surgeons of Mid-Atlantic have spearheaded laparoscopic techniques at PRMC. Kerrigan himself did the first laparoscopic splenectomy, the first laparoscopic adrenalectomy and the first laparoscopic right colectomy. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residencies at Allegheny General Hospital and East Carolina University.

Un Chin, M.D., FACS

Dr. Un Chin is one of six surgeons at Mid-Atlantic Surgical Group. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from George Washington University. He also received his surgical training at George Washington University Medical Center. He serves as a current director of trauma and chairman in Department of Surgery at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. His interest lies in treatment of cancer and morbid obesity.

Douglas B. Wilhite, M.D., FACS

Dr. Douglas B. Wilhite has served as director of vascular surgery at Peninsula Regional Medical Center for the past five years. Wilhite is excited to be in a mid-sized community which offers patients progressive care. “At PRMC we have a new endovascular suite combining a standard operating room environment with the newest X-ray equipment available. It’s great for the patients and surgeons alike,” Wilhite said. Wilhite attended George Washington University for his medical degree and completed his residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center. His areas of interest include vascular and endovascular surgery.

Brion L. McCutcheon, M.D., FACS

Dr. Brion L. McCutcheon joined Mid-Atlantic Surgical Group in 2005. His undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and medical degree were both attained at West Virginia University. General surgical internship and residency were performed at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C.
His area of interest is laparoscopic surgery, including laparoscopic colectomies, hernia repairs, Nissen fundiplications, cholecystectomies, splenectomies and adrenalectomies. He is also the only member of the group who performs endoscopy procedures (colonoscopy and upper endoscopy). McCutcheon is now accepting new patients for the placement of the laparoscopic adjustable gastric band for morbid obesity.
