Peninsula Imaging L.L.C., is pleased to announce the opening of the first full-service outpatient imaging center on Delmarva. The new location is a 14,000-square-foot building located in the Woodbrooke Complex off Route 50 eastbound, directly next to Peninsula Orthopaedics in Salisbury. There will be two entrances to the Woodbrooke complex: Tilghman Road and Mt. Hermon Road. Parking is free and convenient to the facility.
Peninsula Imaging L.L.C., was formed in 1997 as a joint venture between Peninsula Regional Medical Center and Peninsula Radiology Associates. Peninsula Radiology Associates is comprised of 14 radiologists who provide services to Peninsula Imaging, Peninsula Regional and Atlantic General Hospital. As a part of the working relationship between Peninsula Imaging and Peninsula Regional, diagnostic images can be accessed from each location, making it easier to compare prior images to the most current ones.
Radiologists will have computer access to view images from either location, and referring physicians will also be able to access and view their patient’s images and reports. This technology increases continuity of care by facilitating communication between the radiologist and referring doctor should there be questions or concerns about the images and results received.
Patient reports can be mailed or faxed to the referring physician. The referring physician will also have access to the report on Peninsula Imaging’s Web site. In the event of significant, unexpected results, the referring physician will be called immediately.
At its new Woodbrooke location, Peninsula Imaging will strive to continue its reputation for excellent customer service by ensuring the availability of both state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. A 3 Tesla High Field Open Bore MRI machine, one of only 100 in the United States, is being installed in the new office. This, in addition to an Open Bore 1.5 Tesla MRI machine, will produce high-quality images while accommodating large or claustrophic patients.
Peninsula Imaging is excited to be one of the first in the area to offer Breast MRI, innovative technology to increase accuracy in the diagnosis of breast cancer. They will continue to offer digital mammography and will be upgrading general X-ray images to digital technology.
A state of the art 128-slice CT scanner, which utilizes the least amount of radiation compared to all other CT Scanners, will be available. Peninsula Imaging participates in the “Image Gently Campaign” which ensures pediatric CT exams are performed with the lowest possible dose of radiation. Other services available include the area’s only permanent PET/CT Scanner, bone density testing and fluoroscopic examinations.
To accommodate immediate scheduling needs, patients will be able to get on-site blood urea nitrogen and creatine (BUN, Cr) blood testing which is sometimes required for contrast enhanced CT Scans.
Peninsula Imaging’s highly respected Vascular Lab will also be located in the new facility. Currently the Vascular Lab offers same-day testing for venous studies that rule out deep venous thrombosis as well as quick time scheduling for carotid and arterial studies.
Peninsula Imaging will continue to perform general, OB/GYN and small parts sonography utilizing 3D/4D OB ultrasound. While other companies charge for 3D/4D OB pictures and cannot guarantee their quality, Peninsula Imaging provides these high-quality images free for those studies ordered by your OB/GYN physician.
Peninsula Imaging’s state-of-the-art facility will offer high-quality exams and accurate readings from on-site, community-based, board-certified radiologists who specialize in all facets of radiology. Training and sub-specialization for members of the Peninsula Imaging L.L.C., group includes neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, cross-sectional imaging, interventional radiology and musculoskeletal radiology.
Revolutionary equipment and a brand-new building are part of Peninsula Imaging’s commitment to excellent customer service. For the convenience of its patients, a new Web site, www.peninsulaimaging.com, will allow patients to check the hours of operation, become familiar with the imaging practice and review the training of each radiologist. Patients may use the Web site to pre-register for exams, find required preparations for each exam and print any forms that may be necessary.
Current phone numbers for Peninsula Imaging will not change, making it easier to contact the new location. The tradition of offering patients and physician’s offices the personal touch with a friendly and helpful voice on the phone will continue.
To also provide patients with convenient access to quality care, Peninsula Imaging will share its Woodbrooke location with Peninsula Regional’s Laboratory, Peninsula Main Street Occupational Health & Urgent Care and Peninsula/NRH Regional Rehab, a physical rehabilitation partnership between Peninsula Regional Medical Center and National Rehabilitation Hospital.
