Recently the MedSpa became the first medical practice on Delmarva to offer the new CoolSculpting technology by Zeltiq. Billed as the latest alternative to liposuction, this new technology relies on controlled cooling for non-invasive local reduction of fat deposits to reshape body contours.  The exposure to cooling is set so that it causes cell death of subcutaneous fat tissue without apparent damage to the overlying skin. Muffin tops and love handles disappear as the crystallized fat cells break down and are naturally eliminated from the body.  This U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) patented process has been known to show results in as little as two weeks, but the most dramatic results can be seen over a period of time ranging from two to four months after the initial treatment. Jarrah tested the new procedure on her own lower abdomen and lost at least one pant size in just two weeks.
